Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

MINISTRY NAME: EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST

WHO DOES MINISTRY SERVE: The Parish and those who are sick or homebound.

WHAT DOES MINISTRY DO: Distribution of the Eucharist during the Mass, as may be needed, and to those who may be sick or homebound.

THE PRIMARY GOALS THE MINISTRY SEEKS TO ACHIEVE:

1. To assist the Priests and Deacons, as may be needed, with the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass.

2. To assist the Priests and Deacons with set up and clean up of the Mass.

3. If you are interested in bringing the Eucharist to the sick or to the homebound, then to assist the Priests and Deacons, as needed, with this administration.

HOW DOES MINISTRY SEEK TO ACHIEVE THESE GOALS: through the weekly Mass and through visitation of the sick or others who are homebound.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF MINISTRY MEMBERS: To assist, as needed, in the distribution of the Eucharist. 

GIFTS/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS NEEDED BY MEMBERS TO SERVE IN MINISTRY: Ministers are to be approved by the Pastor and have a willingness to participate in the Mass, as needed.  If you are willing to serve in distributing the Eucharist to the sick or to the homebound, then to be available and devote the necessary time to do so.

TIME COMMITMENT REQUIRED BY MEMBER TO SERVE: To be on time for Mass and, as needed, to provide the Eucharist to the sick or the homebound.

WHEN DOES MINISTRY MEET: as and when a meeting may be deemed to be necessary.

WHERE DOES MINISTRY MEET:  to be advised.

TRAINING OR OTHER SUPPORT PROVIDED TO MEMBERS: Initial training as provided by the Archdiocese of Miami, and training by the Parish as may be offered.
