MINISTRY NAME: LEGION OF MARY (English)

WHO DOES MINISTRY SERVE: The Parishioners and community of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary-St. Richard Parish

WHAT DOES MINISTRY DO: Through Mass the Eucharist and our weekly meeting we are spiritually enriched as we go out and serve the people of our community. We go out two by two as Christ sent his Apostles.

THE PRIMARY GOALS THE MINISTRY SEEKS TO ACHIEVE:

1. Help the members become saints in their final destination

2. Help those homebound who need spiritual comfort such as visitation and or Holy Communion.

3. Give consolation to those in nursing homes or a hospital.

HOW DOES MINISTRY SEEK TO ACHIEVE THESE GOALS: By our weekly meeting and our work.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF MINISTRY MEMBERS: Attend a weekly meeting and after a probationary period do their weekly assignment where we receive as well as give to others.

GIFTS/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS NEEDED BY MEMBERS TO SERVE IN MINISTRY: Be a practicing Catholic over the age of 18 years old. Be willing to give of yourself to others spiritually.

TIME COMMITMENT REQUIRED BY MEMBER TO SERVE: An hour and a half for the weekly meeting and a usual minimum of 2 hours for the work each week with a partner.

WHEN DOES MINISTRY MEET: Every Wednesday at 7:30P.M.

WHERE DOES MINISTRY MEET: In the Parish house in the Foyer

TRAINING OR OTHER SUPPORT PROVIDED TO MEMBERS: You are a guest for three weeks and then on probation for three months at which time you will go our with experienced partners to go your work.
