The Office of Catechesis is responsible for Parish-Based Religious Education Programs/Catechetical Programs. These programs are for all ages. Catechesis is life-long learning. Through the Catechesis Program, we help students prepare for Sacraments such as Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation. The office is also responsible for training, assisting, and supporting volunteer Catechists.
Each family is expected to become actively involved in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary – Saint Richard Catechesis Program and Parish to model a living, conscious, and active Christian Faith and reinforce the values and attitudes for living that faith. The family and their children also agree to act according to these values and attitudes.
Registration goes through ENROLLSY and the Tuition payments go through the FACTS Management System. Every family will be enrolled in FACTS Tuition Management System for payment of Catechesis. Failure to pay fees (see tab Enrollment, Tuition, Technology, and Book fees) hampers your child/children enrollment and re-enrollment into the Catechesis Program. The Director of Religious Education, the Parish Pastor, and the Archdiocese make the final decision regarding admission or dismissal to the program or the reception of a Sacrament.
Non-registered parishioners will be required to pay an additional fee of $100.00 since the Parish supplements the Catechesis Program. To be qualified as a Registered Parishioner, you must have been registered while using your Parish number for weekly giving (donations) at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary – Saint Richard Parish for at least 6 months before the first day of Catechism class. In the 2024-2025 Catechetical year, you must have been registered before April 2024. We encourage the families of the Catechesis Program to attend Mass and become active parishioners. Please have the Required Documents (see tab Registration FAQ) ready before the Catechesis registration. It is a requirement to upload the Documents when registering your child/children into the program.
Students are required to attend the 33 sessions of the Catechetical year (see tab Registration FAQ) and attend regular Sunday Mass at our Parish or any other Roman Catholic Church. To record attendance at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary – Saint Richard Parish, use the kiosks located at each entrance of the Church Building. If Mass is attended at another Parish, please bring a bulletin signed by the Celebrant.
The Office of Catechesis will communicate regularly with you via email and text messages. In specific cases, the Catechesis staff will communicate by phone or US mail with the families.
Our office hours are as follows: Mon 9:00 am – 3:30 pm, Tue 1:30 – 8:30 pm, Wed 3:30 – 8:30 pm, Thu 9:00 am – 3:30 pm, Fri and Sat (closed), and Sunday (by appointment only).

Thank you for your interest in the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary – Saint Richard Catechesis Program!
Our program offers a 2-year Eucharist Program and a 3-year Confirmation Program, with classes held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Each class meets once a week for an hour and fifteen minutes.
We do not discriminate against anyone on the grounds of race, color, or national origin. In addition, we do not discriminate in hiring, promotion, discharge, pay, fringe benefits, job training, classification, referral, and other aspects of employment based on race, color, disability, age, gender, or national origin.
Our goal is to provide Catechesis for every child in the parish. In the rare case that we cannot accommodate a child due to special needs, we will assist the parents in providing catechesis for their child, especially in preparation for the Sacraments.

Required Documents
Each student must have their Birth Certificate, Baptism Certificate (if applicable), and First Holy Communion Certificate (if applicable) on file. Note that when registering your child/children with ENROLLSY (our registration system), unless you upload the required documents, ENROLLSY will not allow you to complete the registration process.
Transferred Students
Registration takes place from April through August. Once classes start in September, only transferred students from another Catechesis Program or Parochial School within the same Catechetical year will be considered. Please notify the Catechetical Leader from the Parish the child is transferring from to ensure that the information provided is accurate and that there are no outstanding issues at the previous Catechesis Program.

Pick-Up/Drop-Off Procedures
Our pick-up/drop-off line begins at the Park & Ride lot entrance (the entrance closest to 77th Avenue.) Parents are welcome to drop off their children for class up to 15 minutes before the class start time. It is important to note that all children must be dropped off no later than their respective class start time of either 4 pm or 7 pm. In the event that a child arrives late, they must enter through the Religious Education office located at the front of the building. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring a safe and timely drop-off and pick-up process for all students.

ADOM Godparent/Sponsor Certificate
For students in Confirmation 3, please have your sponsor complete and sign the form above. The form must be signed and sealed by the Pastor/Administrator of the Sponsor’s Parish. Please email the completed and signed form to catechesis@hrsrcs.org.
