Prayer for Trinitarian Vocations

Lord Jesus,

Just as one day you called the first disciples

to make them fishers of men,

so too, today, continue to make resound

your invitation:  “Come, follow me!”

Give to young men and women

grace to respond readily to your voice.

Instill the hearts of young people

the desire to live out the Trinitarian vision

and the redemptive mission of our holy father, St. John de Matha.

Grant perseverance to our friars in

formation, and to all who are realizing

an ideal of life totally consecrated to your service.

Awaken in our communities a zeal for the Gospel.

Mary, Mother of Good Remedy, model of every vocation,

help us to respond by saying “yes” to the Lord who call us

to collaborate  in the divine plan of salvation.

Amen.

Prayer for Persecuted Christians

O God,

Who in your inscrutable providence

with that the Church be united to the

sufferings of your Son, grant, we

pray, to your faithful who suffer for

your name’s sake a spirit of patience

and charity, that they may be found

true and faithful witnesses to the

promises You have made.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,

who lives and reigns with You, in the

unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever

and ever.

Amen.

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,

that never was it known that anyone

who fled to thy protection, implored thy help,

or sought thy intercession was left unaided.

Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee,

O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come;

before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate,

despise not my petitions,

but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Prayer of St. Richard of Chichester

O God,

Who in your inscrutable providence

with that the Church be united to the

sufferings of your Son, grant, we

pray, to your faithful who suffer for

your name’s sake a spirit of patience

and charity, that they may be found

true and faithful witnesses to the

promises You have made.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,

who lives and reigns with You, in the

unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever

and ever.

Amen.
