Service Project of the Month

Operation Christmas Shoebox

Many children in Miami-Dade County do not receive gifts during this special time of year. To combat this, Holy Rosary St. Richard’s Catholic Church will be hosting a Christmas Shoebox drive.

How to make a Christmas Shoebox:

  • Wrap an empty shoebox in gift wrapping paper. Please make sure to wrap the top lidand bottom shoebox separately.
  • Fill the shoebox with small gifts that you would like to receive on Christmas day if you were that child.
    • Gift ideas: Colored pencils, small puzzles, costume jewelry, an inexpensive watch, sunglasses
  • In a separate envelope, you may choose to include a note to the child.
  • Print and cut out the appropriate label and attach it to the top of your box.
  • Place a rubber around the shoebox and lid and bring it to class by December 20/21.

Please do not include any liquids, fragile items, perishable foods, or war-related items like toy guns, knives, or military games.

Students will receive 3 hours per box. Please no more than 4 boxes per student. Thank you.
