WHAT IS A MEN’S EMMAUS RETREAT?

EMMAUS is a weekend retreat presented by a team of men who have previously participated in a similar retreat weekend. While on this retreat you’ll be free from the distractions of your daily routine. We gather in a relaxed, informal, confidential, and non-judgmental setting. It is a time of good food, snacks, and refreshments, for fellowship, camaraderie, and meeting new friends, where men minister, support, encourage, and guide one another. With your mind clear, you will be able to open yourself to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and discover a deeper understanding of Jesus’ unconditional love, forgiveness, and healing, leading you to experience more inner peace, deep satisfaction, greater meaning, joy, and life-enhancing relationships in your life.

WHERE IS THE RETREAT AND HOW LONG IS IT?
The retreat will take place in the Parish Hall of Our Lady Holy Rosary – St. Richard Catholic Church located in 7500 SW 152nd St. Palmetto Bay, FL 33157. You need to be there on Friday, November 6, between 6:00 and 6:30 PM. The retreat will end on Sunday afternoon after the 5:00 PM Mass.

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE WEEKEND? We learn how to “recognize” Jesus in our everyday lives, through witness, small group sharing and reflection time.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS FOR MAKING EMMAUS? The benefits are personal to you. Many men have experienced tremendous healing and lifting of burdens, an increase of love, joy, peace, understanding, and a new sense of belonging.

WHAT SHOULD I PACK IN MY SUITCASE? Dress extremely casually, including shorts, jeans, sandals, or whatever else you find comfortable. Just make sure you pack long jeans or pants for the Mass. Bring your own personal toiletries (soap, toothbrush, washcloth, etc.) and a pillow, sheet, and blanket. Everything else will be provided. On Friday, a light meal will be available if you are unable to have dinner before arriving.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost of the weekend is $150.00 and includes all meals and accommodation. If you do not have the financial ability to pay the fee, do not let that stop you. Let us know and arrangements can be made. Space is limited, so applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, determined by the date of receipt of your deposit.
